The Independence Fund’s caregiver support program provides resources, respite care, and education to ensure that caregivers receive the assistance they need to continue their important role in the lives of wounded Veterans.

Sarah’s personal experiences have fueled her dedication to causes close to her heart. Inspired by her passion for Veteran, ally, and caregiver support, she led The Independence Fund—an organization committed to restoring the independence of wounded veterans, co-founded Save Our Allies, and has served as a national advocate and voice-amplifier for those who can’t.
Through The Independence Fund, Sarah works tirelessly to address the unique needs of disabled veterans and provide them with the necessary resources and support systems to lead fulfilling lives. The organization focuses on a wide range of initiatives, including adaptive sports programs, caregiver support, and mobility assistance.
Support
Sarah’s work extends around the globe. The people of Afghanistan have always held a special place in her heart, and she has worked continuously to support allies of the US forces. Sarah Co-founded the nonprofit group Save Our Allies after the Fall of Kabul in 2021 with the mission to rescue and aid Americans and Allies in war-torn environments and resettle them in environments free of tyranny and terror. Sarah continues to advocate for the safety and freedom of those allies who stood shoulder to shoulder with our troops.
As President and CEO of The Verardo Group, Sarah has aligned non-profit organizations and entities committed to the betterment and empowerment of their communities. Providing expert programming, mentorship and support to foster cohesion within communities in need. With a core focused on advocating for a better world, The Verardo Group leverages strategic public- private partnerships and empower cause-drive organizations to bring change to their communities and impact urgent societal issues.
