The Independence Fund’s caregiver support program provides resources, respite care, and education to ensure that caregivers receive the assistance they need to continue their important role in the lives of wounded Veterans.

Through her tireless efforts and unwavering commitment, Sarah Verardo has become a leading voice for disabled Veterans and their families. Her advocacy work has shed light on the challenges faced by wounded Veterans and has successfully driven policy changes and improvements in the support systems available to them. Sarah’s work extends around the globe. The people of Afghanistan have always held a special place in her heart, and she has worked continuously to support allies of the US forces. Sarah Co-founded the nonprofit group Save Our Allies after the Fall of Kabul in 2021 with the mission to rescue and aid Americans and Allies in war-torn environments and resettle them in environments free of tyranny and terror. Sarah continues to advocate for the safety and freedom of those allies who stood shoulder to shoulder with our troops.
